IMHO #1

“Personally, as a writer, I’m not ready to surrender my work exclusively to cyberspace. I’m not ready for my work to be just a digital imprint in the ether. There’s no realness to that.
I want my books to be tangible, something to slip in a backpack, set your coffee cup on, something that you can rabbit-ear the pages of, pass on to a friend, find comfort in amidst chaos, and finally, something that will collect dust on a shelf as it awaits inheritance.” Byron Suggs

  1. I saw this and I had to come read your opinion on it. I see a lot of writers not even trying to submit to publishers and simply self-publishing e-books. I think that would drive me crazy. I want my books to be something tangible, physical that can be held. I seriously considered e-books, but I just can't accept it. The only way I think I might do only an ebook is for my 365 project since the first drafts are all online already, but even that I am still doubting. Maybe I'm a book snob or something lol, but for some reason I just can't settle on only doing an ebook for the stories. I'm glad I'm not the only one though, lol.

  2. Thanks. I'm not totally against e-publishing, but I want a sufficient amount of print runs before that happens. It may, or may not be, the future of publishing, but I think the printed word should be preserved. For humankind, it's a tangible legacy we should protect. Digital pppfffft! can be lost in an instant, but books endure...
